How a Utah Wedding Photographer & a Couple Just Fit

When the wedding day starts, I can often sense those wedding day jitters in the air because it’s the kind of day that you only live once. You want it to be perfect, and for all of your plans to come together while still actually enjoying it as it unfolds. I assist my couples in finding pockets of time throughout the day to really experience the wedding day itself.

That process can start with the engagement session. I shot Cheryl and Mike’s Moab adventure engagement photos earlier in the year and they loved both the experience and outcome of the shoot. After seeing how I operated, we quickly became comfortable working with each other. This meant that by the time their wedding day rolled around, we were already pretty good friends and the day just moved smoothly.

This well-traveled couple chose The Red Earth Venue as their location after doing some light Moab wedding venue research. Figuring out how to get married in Utah was the natural next step following the couple’s adventures they had experienced there already.

It was during a road trip to Moab (their first road trip ever together) where they fell in love! Reminiscing about those awesome adventures together (including Cheryl’s first time repelling!) inspired both the location and desert wedding theme design of their day.

After loving The Red Earth Venue photos the couple entrusted themselves to their wedding planning team’s beautiful suggestions. They were able to pull off chill but classy desert chic wedding vibes for the fall wedding color palette. Cheryl reported that Kosi Events wedding planners “were goddesses and we honestly didn’t know what we were going for but it worked out beyond perfectly.”

Sometimes, you just know it’s right. Mike hadn’t even purchased an engagement ring yet when these two chose a Moab, Utah desert venue for their wedding day. As they explained, The Red Earth Venue was “the perfect spot to bring all of our favorite people to celebrate and start our life together.”

Cheryl and Mike were so excited just to finally be married, complete the planning process and enjoy their efforts! Mike couldn’t wait to see Cheryl in her insanely pretty dress and experience the food, drinks and celebrating with everyone.
